

Dr. Michael Pistiner
We welcome Dr. Michael Pistiner to our practice. He has recently completed his Allergy/Immunology fellowship at Children’s Hospital Boston, Harvard Medical School. During his Fellowship training he earned his Master of Medical Sciences from Harvard Medical School’s Scholars in Clinical Science Program and has published a study supporting a link between caesarean delivery and the development of allergies that was chosen as the Editor’s Choice for the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology. In addition he completed his adult cross training at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. Dr. Pistiner is board certified in Pediatrics and completed his pediatric residency at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. He is a native of New York State and attended State University of New York, Binghamton University for his undergraduate degree and State University of New York, Upstate Medical University (Syracuse) for his medical degree. Dr. Pistiner is board certified in allergy and immunology by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology.
Dr. Pistiner is a member of the American Academy of Allergy Asthma and Immunology and serves on its Public Education and Adverse Reactions to Foods Committees. He is also a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and their Council on School Health as well as their Section on Allergy and Immunology. Additionally Dr. Pistiner is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society.
He speaks regularly to pediatricians, nurses, support groups, and schools on food allergy and anaphylaxis management in a variety of settings and is on the Speaker Bureaus of the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Allergy and Immunology, and the American Academy of Allergy Asthma and Immunology. Additionally, he has an interest in increasing food allergy awareness in restaurants and has been involved in food allergy advocacy in Massachusetts.
